The story behind the Seahorses
The first Seahorse came from a very personal place. A childhood friend of mine, who just experienced pregnancy loss, asked me to make a seahorse for them, as a way to remember the little life they lost.
I created a small wall piece featuring a sleepy, peaceful seahorse, with its tail wrapped around coral, inspired by the connection between a baby and their mother.
My friend loved it, and the piece became part of their home and their story.
More than 2 years later, I decided to revisit that little ceramic being and make a mould. Not to create memorial pieces, but to create a tactile colourful presence inspired by the tenderness and connection I felt while making the very first seahorse.
Even though my Seahorses share the same beginning, each of them develop its own personality through small modelling touches and unique colours.
They are ideal for bringing sea-inspired wonder to the walls, but also for tactile people like me, who enjoy safe sensory seeking.
Display: Seahorses only need a small nail with a head. They look lovely when surrounded by other Seahorses, Starfish or Sea Spirits and Sea Anemones.
